Hi, I’m Blair Golson.

I’m a chronic pain recovery specialist at LiveWell Behavioral Health in Melbourne, Florida. I work with people who are ready to approach persistent pain from a brain-based, neuroplastic perspective.

Many of the people I support have been living with pain for years. Together, we focus on understanding how the nervous system contributes to ongoing pain and on building practical skills that help reduce fear, calm the system, and restore confidence in the body.

My work centers on education, guided practice, and steady forward movement — one step at a time.

Why I Do This Work

I lived with a debilitating chronic pain condition for ten years.

It affected nearly every part of my life — work, relationships, physical activity, and my sense of safety in my own body. I know how overwhelming it can feel when your body seems unpredictable or unsafe.

My recovery began when I worked with a practitioner using a brain-based approach similar to the one I now practice. I went from feeling helpless and hopeless to essentially pain-free within weeks. The shift was profound — understanding my nervous system and reducing fear changed everything.

The experience was so unexpected and impactful that it was later featured in a thoughtful, in-depth Vox article on this approach — one I often recommend for its clear blend of science and lived experience. (Can’t access that article? Here’s a PDF version.)

My Approach

My work is informed by both Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) and Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy — the two brain-based approaches proven to be the most clinically effective for chronic pain recovery.

In simple terms, PRT and EAET help you:

— Understand how chronic pain can become learned and reinforced by the brain and nervous system

— Reduce fear, hypervigilance, and the stress responses that amplify symptoms

— Safely process emotions and stress patterns that may be contributing to pain sensitivity

— Calm the nervous system and build confidence in movement and daily life
